Candice
Madey

Candice Madey founded the pioneering Lower East Side gallery On Stellar Rays in 2008 and, for nine years, directed a program that garnered international recognition for a dynamic roster of artists working in painting, photography, sculpture, performance, sound, and video. Both as director of On Stellar Rays and independently, Candice has published eight artists’ monographs, working with artists from initial concept, contributing texts or commissioning writers, to final stages of design, printing and distribution. She has also supported numerous other print projects including zines, artists’ books and posters.

Previously, Candice worked in Client Advisory at Christie’s, consulting to prominent collectors across departments, and in curatorial and educational positions at The Wexner Center for the Arts, The Ohio State University’s History of Art Department, and the Akron Art Museum.
